The Escape Menu

Pub Cover PicWe would like to offer you this simple ‘no frills’ menu of real fresh food. We have taken great care when choosing the farms and suppliers that provide our delicious top quality ingredients. Put quite simply “you will taste the difference.”

Please order your meals at the bar and take note of your table number.

Aberdeen Angus Burger £7.25 Home-made by our skilled chef, a generous 6oz burger using pure-bred Aberdeen Angus Beef which has been hung for 21 days to enhance the flavour. We serve it in a toasted roll with tomato and onion chutney and a generous portion of chips. If you would like we can top it with melted Cheddar. Add a couple of slices of dry cure bacon (+ £1.25)

Vegetarian Burger option £6.00 Escape Rarebit £4.50 Two slices of toasted hand sliced bread from the award winning De Gustibus Bakery dripping with grilled topping of melted West Country Cheddar cheese, a hint of wholegrain mustard and perfected with a splash of Worcestershire Sauce accompanied with chilli jam relish. Add a couple of slices of dry cure bacon (+ £1.25)

Fish Finger and Chip Sandwich £5.00 Crispy cod fish fingers (from a sustainable source) sandwiched between two slabs of fresh crusty bread served with chips and home-made tartare sauce

Hot Food £8.00 Bangers and Mash – A trio of sausages served with creamy stomp and lashings of onion gravy. (So what is stomp?! It’s creamy mashed potato with leeks, carrots and spring onions…….Ummmm Yummy) Please ask for the sausage of the day.

Steak and Chips (+ £2) – 8oz Aberdeen Angus rump steak hung for 21 days to enhance the flavour, served with chunky chips and a fresh green salad

Salmon and Crab fishcake –Fishcake with Morecambe Bay Crab and Scottish Salmon flakes, served with a warm rocket salad and chilli jam relish

Sandwiches £4.25 Fresh, hand sliced bread from the award winning ‘De Gustibus’ Bakery with carefully chosen selection of fillings: * Sausage of the Day and fried red onion * Tuna (dolphin friendly) with crème fraiche * Free Range Chicken and Dry cure Bacon * Free Range Egg Mayonnaise * Aberdeen Angus Steak and Mustard (+£1.00)

Escape Salads £7.00 We insist on using only the freshest produce for our salads, finishing them with our unique “Escape” dressing.

SuperFood

No meat - No wheat - No dairy Pulses, lentils and chickpeas mild curry hummus served with rocket spinach and mixed leaves, cherry toms, cucumber, carrot batons and mixed beans with special Escape dressing.

Chicken Caesar With carved free range chicken breast, Romaine lettuce leaves, croutons Caesar dressing, fresh anchovies and shaved parmesan cheese

Warm Goats Cheese English Wealdway Goats Cheese on a toasted bruchetta with roasted peppers, red onion and cherry tomato, served on dressed mixed leaves

Proper Nicoise Dolphin-friendly tuna, Romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, black olives, new potatoes, green beans and free range egg
